Responsable tourism: Viable option or marketing stunt?
The term “sustainable tourism” is increasingly bandied about today, but is it really more than a buzzword? Has the financial crisis brought sustainable tourism to a standstill? Good intentions, speeches and publicity are all very well but is the tourism sector making a genuine attempt to seize this excellent opportunity to kick-start demand?

An innovative financing system to encourage responsible tourism
Poor and developing countries are the worst hit by diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria and AIDS. Public funding for tourism is scarce and the tourism sector has therefore set up a unique financing system. The fledgling system takes the implications of all tourism-related purchases into account. How is it working, and does this innovative financing system really have a future?
